Tests show Enfamil Premium Newborn is SAFE!

Dear FRAN,

Because you're a member of the Enfamil Family Beginnings® program, we sent you an email recently to let you know that Enfamil® formula is safe. In it, we explained our rigorous quality and safety processes and the high standards to which we hold every single batch of Enfamil formula.

Now regulatory agency test findings released late Friday can give you one more measure of reassurance. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) completed their testing on all formula samples collected from us. Those tests confirmed that Enfamil PREMIUM® Newborn Formula is safe, and no presence of Cronobacter was detected-consistent with the result of two rounds of testing that we previously conducted.

The government testing was related to health investigations in Missouri and Illinois. No other incidents led to the testing of Enfamil products. The test results from the FDA and CDC-in combination with our previously reported results-should give you peace of mind and full confidence in the safety and quality of Enfamil and all Mead Johnson products.

All Enfamil formulas undergo approximately 2,300 quality checks and safety tests before they are shipped from our warehouse. This high standard of quality and safety has been an important part of our 100-year legacy. It's that level of commitment that you can continue to trust for your baby, and one of the reasons Enfamil is the #1 pediatrician-recommended infant formula brand.

As a reminder, it is important to properly handle formula when feeding your baby. Every package of Enfamil contains instructions for easily and safely preparing and using the product, including proper hygiene, preparation, dilution, use and storage.
