I did it. I finally canned my tomatoes.... ended up with only 8 pints of tomato sauce!

So, I woke up this morning with all kinds of energy.
Ok, not really but I had to muster some up because:

1) It's garbage and recycling day and the hubby isn't here to
take it to the curb;
2) I had a sink FULL of tomatoes that I had washed
and they needed to be canned;
3) The animals were going crazy for some play time;
and
4) The hose on the pool sprung yet another leak!

Which meant I woke up at 6:20 am, thanks to my Mia clock.
I recommend you all get one,
she's infallible and has woken me every morning
(even Sat and Sun) at 6:20 am for potty and breakfast.
At 76 lbs, she can throw her weight around too,
so NOT getting up, isn't an option.

I was up, had the girls fed, and was outside
watering the garden by 6:30 am!
Spotted the leaky hose on the pool,
took a few minutes to fix that up as best I could.
Then took the garbage and recycling to the curb,
and even washed out the recycling tub we keep inside.

WOW.... all this before 7:00 am and NO coffee!

I should have known better and made a lot of coffee,
because it took almost 7 hours to can the eight jars
of tomato sauce you see in the above picture.

I have such great respect for my Grandma,
my ex's Grandmother, and anyone else who has a garden
and cans their own vegetables.
It's a lot of work and you really have to love doing it!

Now when I eat home canned vegetables,
I'll enjoy them even more!
I'm off to the "Cash & Carry Barn" today,
going to get some of his awesome green beans....
ALREADY CANNED!  : )
